Ansistrano 🏗 reaches 1.500.000 deployments!
I’m happy to announce that, Ansistrano, the project I created together with Christian Soronellas and Ricard Clau in 2014, has reached more than 1.5M deployments.
We keep track of the deployments anonymously by sending some stats to the https://ansistrano.com website. It’s an optional feature that can be disabled, so we know that more deployments have happened, but we can only talk about the ones we track 😉. None of the creators were expecting such success. We are glad to see that Ansistrano is useful and easy to use.
August 2017, 300.000 deployments
Ricard, Christian, and I recorded a live video when reaching the 300.000 deployments. It was August 2017. That means that in 3 years we have performed 1.200.000 deployments. That’s a lot of deployments! The current rhythm is 30.000 per month.
Thursday, the best day for deploying

Because we track deployments, we can see what is the distribution among weekdays. It’s interesting to see that Thursday is the most chosen day and that Friday is heavily used for deploying (15%).
Push forward strategy
Another interesting fact is the level of rollbacks. It’s clear that developers prefer a push forward strategy. 1.5M deployments vs. 4K rollbacks. that’s a 0,26% ratio.
❤️ Sponsor us!
If you like Ansistrano, you can now support us by funding the project in GitHub: https://github.com/sponsors/ansistrano. On top of that, we cannot forget to mention JetBrains Team Blog who sponsors the project by providing opensource licenses from 2016. Thanks!
See it live!
You have a really nice presentation from Oliver Davies about using Ansistrano for deploying Drupal applications. Take a look!
